Default Wipers have a mind of their own

I have a 1995 Chevy Blazer. When I use my wipers, they do some weird stuff. For one, they will randomly stop in middle of the windshield. Also, they will do different speeds then what is selected. For example, I had the on the first setting, but they were going the top speed. Any ideas?

Thanks!

common problem, there is probably a broken solder joint on the circuit board in the wiper motor. I dont remember where I found the info, but basically you will remove three screws that hold the plastic cover on the motor and the board will be exposed. Its about a 30 minute job.
