would disconnecting my heater hose work?
what would happen if i disconnected the heater hose thats connected to the ac compressor and firewall?
as ive mentioned before on this forum my AC doesnt work and blows hot air, but with the heat getting up there in degrees and money being tight i cant afford to fix the AC right now.
SO i bought a ac recharge kit r134a and i have a thermostat that i bought.
my reason for asking if i can disconnect the heater hose is because my vents blow hot air so im thinking if i disconnect the heater hose no hot air will blow, and if i use the r134a with the thermostat im hoping i will get cold air again

Air is only directed over the heater core when the controls are set to a heated mode. So unless you have a temperature actuator problem, disconnecting the heater hoses really shouldn't have much of an effect.
I will add that the heater hoses do not connect to the A/C compressor. Rather, they go from the firewall to the engine where one is supplied with coolant by the water pump while the other dumps back into the engine.
What trouble shooting steps have you taken to diagnose your A/C issues? Does the compressor run? If not, then you could have a proper charge and either have a bad fuse/relay or a low pressure switch problem. You can read up on the A/C diagnosis in a few threads in the Tech Article (DIY) section.

the Compressor works, i see it rotate and engages, hoping freon will help it.
well the most recent thing ive done was flush the radiator other than that nothing, my vents blow hot air as long as the truck is on and it has no ac , next monday i plan on changing the thermostat possibilly flushing it again and putting freon r134 in it ..

If the compressor engages, but one of the lines does not become cool, even a little bit, you likely have larger problems than just charge level. Someone may have jumpered the system to run regardless of charge...
