Would a door water leak trigger alarm?

My 2000 Jimmy alarm went off today while parked in my driveway (factory alarm horn honking). The power locks quit working completely, with the remote and the door switches. Unlocking the door with the key did stop the honking (glad it wasn't middle of the night). It rained earlier and my passenger door does leak sometimes, which it did today. The water drips down from the top of door near the power window and lock switches then runs down into the door pocket. I'm assuming the power lock switch got wet and shorted. After a couple hours I tested and now the power locks work, with the remote and door switches, so again assuming the water dried up.
Can anyone confirm that this water leak would trigger the alarm and stop all power locks from working. Hoping it's that simple and that I don't have a more serious problem!
On the leaking issue, since my passenger door has had much less use than my drivers door, I don't think the hinge pins and bushings would be worn out. The seal looks good. Going to try tweaking the top of the door first. Since it only seems to leak when it's a windy rain storm, and the water ends up in the plastic door pocket, I may just come up with a deflector to cover my power switches when rain is in the forecast. LOL cheap fix!
