Default 1 sub vs 2 subs

hey i really was thinkin about adding another sub to my truck the same type R sub i already have....how much more bass would i get outta having 2 would it make it sound that much better or should i not bothergetting another....i like clean bass thats why i went with alpine also and i have been very happy i would also do 2 seperate boxes for my subs because i hear the clarity of the bass is better if u have 2 seperate boxes (by the way i would power my second sub by another 700 watt amp) so what do u guys think is it a good choice or not

I would get another sub just cause it would sound better. And 2 boxes is not nessesarily better than 1 box, but if you get 1 box make sure they are seperat chambers(that does make it better because the subs aren't fighting for the same air). Im about to put 2 12 inch Massives in my standard cap S10.

i would say, put in the second one I want to put in 4 12" kickers in one costume box. If you don't put in the other one then takeout the type r and get a type x.

Subs in a common box dont "fight" each other for the airspace, they simply share it 50-50. If your subs are "fighting" each other than you have something wired out of phase. The only real disadvantage to a common chamber is that if one sub blows the other sub will see the full 100% volume, not just the 50% we discussed earlier...

I see your sub is in a best buy ported box, build yourself a custom ported on and I'll bet you'll end up thanking me... Ask anybody that knows and they'll tell you prefab boxes SUCK!
