Default 1989 chevy s10 blazer radio wiring issue

I recently bought a 89 chevy blazer. It already had a aftermarket radio installed but it was junk so i replaced it. I found the wire diagram, everything was fairly straight forward and i got it to work but not correctly. I blew a fuse that runs my dash light and headlight warning light and if i have the radio turned up too high it cuts out and restarts. I found a wire that seems to make the radio work, without that wire my radio does nothing its a tan or light orange wire with a white stripe, what do i do with this? So from all the reading i have done, it says that the orange wire is the constant but there is no mention of the wire its paired with, a brown wire with an orange stripe.
