Default 1998 chevy blazer

I have a question. Im the owner of a 1998 chevy blazer. i plan on putting some new speakers and subs in my car. And of course an amp or 2. As of now all the interior of my car is stock. and i wanted to know how i would go about removing the stock sterio head piece mounted in the car above the AC and climate controls. Any tips?

There are 4 screws on the plastic panel where you're knees are (drivers side, under steering wheel) unscrew them and lower that piece down a few inches. Then the dash bezel (surrounding light switches, gauges, rear hatch/4x4 switches and HU/AC controls) has 3 screws attaching it. One is above the gauges and the other two are accessible by removing the panel mentioned above.

Once you get the screws out, pull on the dash bezel and it will unclip. The steering wheel needs to be down as low as it can and put the trans down into D1 so that there is clearance to remove the panel. Unplug the switches as you go. Then you have access to the stock HU.

Hopefully that made sense. I had my entire dash completely apart yesterday and was contemplating taking pictures of it but didn't have my camera handy so I didnt bother.

I do have one picture though that may help you.
