Question 2001 Blazer LT - How do you install an HD tuner?

I recently purchased a Pioneer HD-Ready HU (DEH-P4001HD) and also got the HD Tuner (GEX-P10HD). They came together in a package from Crutchfield for cheap!

I have a 2001 Chevy Blazer LT with a non-Bose stock system.

How do I cleanly/safely remove the dash panel? Is it just the one hex screw near the speedometer/tach? After removing that should everything snap/pop out?

Where is the best place to tie the HD tuner's 12v power supply in? Should I splice into the 12v power supply for the HU?

Where is the best place to mount the HD tuner behind the dash?

I want to do it all myself and not resort to having a professional do it... any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Sorry, posted the first one and didn't know I couldn't do it. I changed my previous post to reflect a new question I have.

I just bought the same exact thing for my Blazer, although they gave me a wiring adapter for an '02 harness, when mine has an '03 harness.(tell me how that make sense) So they are sending me a new one, should be in wednesday.
Anyways, I was going to install my HD tuner in my glove-box.
I also need this answered from someone who knows, it says the tuner needs a 12v power source. Is it okay for me hook the power for the HD tuner into the power source for my radio?

I didn't notice the dash panel question. What you do is remove four bolts from the lower dash trim under the steering column, and let that kinda drop to expose two of the three more bolts you need to take off. Then, there will be three bolts to remove, one in front of the instrument cluster in that black surrounding, and one on the left and right of the steering column. Then, just gently pull the surrounding trim off. I hope this helps, or at least makes sense. I'm not the best at instructing.

Default hd tuner

I just installed mine today. The post about the panel removal is dead on except that you need to unhook the lighting, 4x4 and rear washer hook ups. I tied the hd tuner 12v power into the wire harness adapter. Hu install was a breeze but had to cut out the rear support for the stock radio behind the dash. Crutchfield definitely hooked up a good deal. Took about an hour total. I wouldn't put the hd tuner in the glove box no need to access it as long as you hook it up right. I jammed it behind the dash behind the hu. Best way in my opinion. Easy install if you have a 7mm and a flathead.

Yeah, I was thinking about just tying the power for the HD tuner into the HU power, and since you said the HD tuner just fits behind the radio itself, I might as well do that. Looks like we helped each other out on that one. Awesome!

Does your speakers sound better?

Talking

the HU really makes the speakers sound awesome, still stock speakers, but I'm now thinking about upgrading. The iPod connection is pretty awesome and living in the Boston area (inside the 128 belt) I get quite a few solid HD1 and HD2 stations. The difference is pretty noticable, good bass, good sound, clear... well worth it.
