Default 5 watt difference on a head unit?

I'm browsing alpine head units for my blazer, and i see that they have 50 watt, and 45 watt outputs. Is there any major difference? I don't have any amps or subs or anything. Thanks.

dont go by that rating. that is just the max wattage rating. look up the rms wattage rating of each head unit your considering. ive found that pioneer's generally have the highest rms rating. some alpine have the same or close to the same. but as for other, ive only relaly found them to be lower (sony, kenwood, jvc, panasonic). im not sure what the rating are, but i know most pioneers are 22watts rms. my old kenwood was 19 watts rms. and believe it or not, those 3 watts/per channel make a HUGE difference. the higher rms head unit you get, the louder you'll be able to crank up the volume before the sound distorts. my vote is for pioneer, they are excellent units.

a premier is the same thing as the equivalent regular pioneer model except its got a couple features you'd find in the next model up.

i think you just got a bad deck man. ive used many many pioneers, and they have 1 of the best anti-skip protections out there. and ive owned a couple of the lowest models of that particular year, and a few mid-range models.
