o and i just did rough calculations...32hz= 4 6" Dia. circle ports w/ length of around 26 inches w/ an enclosure of 10 cubes. And the 27" i estimated above doesnt take into consideration that the back is angled, which i believe added 1.5-2" on the bottom so a total of around 29" length for the bottom measurement (front of box to bottom of seat).

Its just that you are losing so much efficiency with ports that long. Even though there is more port area the length is killing it. The ports are acting like a pipe organ.

O and 01vortec 36x30x16 does equal 10 cubes... do (36)(30)(16) and divide by 1728. And it isnt tiny trust me, gettin that thing out is
10 cubes OUTSIDE diameter.. Figure in wood thickness... it then becomes 34.5*14.5*28.5= 14257.125/1728=8.25

your box is only.. 32.5*25.5*14.5=12016.875/1728 = 6.95421007 You said the back was angles a little, even with a slight angle your not going to gain 2 cubes.

with port dispalcement your box is well in the 5 cube area.....

*edit* fixed math, had wrong dimensions listed

Edit.... oops double post

idk y u guys r tryin to tell him his calculations r all messed up... who cares... he got the box to fit, work and look good... who cares if his math was a lil rusty... and james i deff gotta give u props on building the box since u said u guys had no box experience... i looks pretty badass when its done and installed...

thanks PA...im gonna be goin back home from college sunday so ill measure it up when i get there since i took it out and let ya'll kno the exact dimensions.
I'm actually really suprised tho how well it turned out since it was my friend and i building it, and he only had built two boxes prior to this and this was our first shot at something this scale and carpeting plus it was cold out which really sucked.
Like i said before im most likely replacing the whole thing for a smaller box, 2 AQ HDC315s, bigger amp, and slot port since those ports were a pain. Hopefully it will be much louder

your gonna want a bigger box then the current one for 2 HDC315's..

and pa, calculations in a ported box are very important if you want to build it right and have it tuned right. I wasn't trying to be a dick just letting him know that box is alot smaller then he thinks it is.

vortec....explain ur reasoning on bigger box for 2 15s...cuz say I build one that is 8 cubes ported, thats 4 cubes per sub and the way I understand is that that its too much to allow good response...im kind of a novice at this tho...

an 8 cube box would be fine for two HDC315s but an 8 cube box (actual 8 cube after port displacement) is going to be alot larger than the enclosure you have now. Not to mention Slot ports take up alot of room.
