04 Blazer - Complete Rewire (?'s)
I have a 04 Blazer Xtreme I'm getting ready to replace the entire sound system in it. Long story short, when I was 18 I had a very large system put in by a local shop (I knew nothing of car stereos). I'm 30 now lol. I have since removed most of the equipment they installed, and I'm only looking a putting a new indash in (know how to do this) and 2 subs in the back (know how to do this). But my question comes in here. There's tons of extra wiring and a bunch of **** left in still from the old system they installed. Since I'm pretty much restoring this truck and want things done right, I'm wanting to completely remove all the wiring for the stereo system (all the speakers in the truck) and re-run/replace it when I put all the new speakers in. Is this something hard to do? I've installed in-dash units in several different types of cars, but never ran new wiring to all the speakers, just jacked into the factory harness and used it. Since the old wiring has been spliced and ran all over the place, it'd be easier to just do it right and rewire it all. Yes, the speakers currently work in it, but I don't want a ton of crap wiring/extra stuff in it and leave it there before I put all the interior back in. I assume this isn't extremely complicated, but I'm just trying to prep and get a cost list together before I order stuff. I'm getting ready to dynamat the whole thing in a week and I'll be putting all new wiring in and replacing it, keeping it clean (and knowing what/where it all is). Thanks guys.
