I have blown my windshield out with a lot less than that. Maybe if I owned a stereo shop and had a point to prove I would go louder, but when windows start losing their seal...you have gone far enough.

Well, a lotta old school 2 channels will go one ohm or below. Autotek...Orion...MTX...HiFonics...Phoenix Gold...Soundstream...I guess pretty much all the decent old school amps would. Now that I have found a place that fixes and specializes in old school amps I don't see the need to buy any of this new crap.

ok well there are alot of amps that will go lower than recommended, but are any of those amps rated to go that low bridged? i mean not that it even matter, but its just stupid not to get a monoblock, cause mono blocks for the most part will be able to play at a lower impedance than a 2-ch bridged. and on top of that, many 2-ch amps are A/B which im sure you know is very unefficient as compaired to a class D.

It is generally accepted that the old class A/B amps are inefficient, I would rather think they just are not in demand. Now adays it 2-4 amps per speaker. Back then it was one HCCA 2100 on 12 12" subs. Put that class D mono block on 12 subs vs a HCCA on 12 subs and then tell me which one is less efficient. It's all relative. I know what you are saying though. He did get a pretty bad *** amp though so I see no need to say man you shoulda got a ....at least he didn't say yo homey, I just got a 2000 watt Sony Xplod.

the amount of amps u use has nothing to do with the efficiency. i.e. 85% efficiency from 1 amp is still 85% from 10 of the same amps. and there are many amps out there that put out more than the 2100 and are more efficient. not saying the 2100 sux, i love it. its 1 badass amp, but just like an electronics, they will forever be improved upon. i didnt mean to bash his amp, i was just sayinf if its not too late then go get a monoblock.

those are the coolest! ok I do have a confession to make...I did buy and since my boat is red a sony xplod deck, 5 1/4s, and 6x9s from wallymart and they look good in there. And for a 17' speed boat there pretty damn good. I just couldn't see spending the real money on marine speakers. Yea there waterproof but how many people boat in the rain? only if your fishing maybe.

Yeah I'd put it in a boat. My parents boat came with a Clarion system that didn't last one season, but then again they can't take care of ****.
