alpine system
I have had alpine since the early 80s and would like all of you to tell me if you think this will be a good setup for my 97 four door blazer.I am planning on putting in all alpine components.Cda-9886 head unit,spr17c 61/2 front door speakers,spr13c 51/4 rear door speakers, not sure which to go with sws-1043d 10" 4 ohm or sws-1023d 2 ohm subs,mrp-f600 amp for the four spr speakers and the mrp-m500 for the subs.would it be best to use sealed or ported boxes for the subs.I know that some will say to use this or that but the alpine systems have done me well in the past.the first radio failed in 2001 it was bought in 83 and the second radio is still running in another vehicle.I would like to find out what size the rear door speakers are for sure because I have heard both that they are 51/4 and 61/2 so what do I have 61/2 in the front and 51/4 in the rear doors or do I have 61/2 in all four doors.the mrp-m500 amp has the specs as 300wattsx1 at 4 ohms or 500wattsx1 at 2 ohms and the subs specs are sws-1043d 50-300 watts dual 4 ohm voice coils and the sws-1023d 300 watts dual 2 ohm voice coils both subs will work in sealed boxes that have 0,65-1.5 cubes or ported that have 1.0-1.75 cubes this is where I have my trouble trying to figure out which sub and amp or which box would be best to use.The mrp-m500 amp can run either sub but what box would be best I have heard pros and cons about both.I am just looking for some decent bass nothing for show or try and out do somebody else just for me.Any help with the subs, amp, and boxes would be great.Yes I plan on using amp kits and hush mat or equel and upgrading the big three cables and capacitor in the system.
