Let me know what issues you're having. I'm a MECP certified installer, been in the business for 9 years. I've given out plenty of advise in other forums for other cars i've had. So i just figured i'd throw it out there that you can ask me specific questions and know that you're going to get straight forward answers. I also have wiring diagrams for every aspect of alarms and remote starts for every year of every model of every car..... so i can find what you're looking for.
Oh, and for the guy having the issues with your car not starting after installing a radio, i tried replying to your thread many times, and after i would type out a long answer and hit OK, the screen would just show some error message and my post wasn't there, i tried 3 times. So if you're reading this i'll just type it here.
First question, did you use a wiring harness? (no not the harness the radio came with when you bought it, but a seperate harness that plugs into the cars factory harness so that you don't have to cut it)
I hope so, you should always use a harness, and if you did, your dash lights not working could be because you hooked up the orange and orange/white wires. Pretty much never hook those up, cause they are illumination and dimmer wires, (which allotta aftermarket radios don't have) and have you checked your fuses for the illumination and dimmer???
Second, i really really really hope you used the above discribed harness. Cause if you just chopped of the factory one, i feel bad for your car. It is 100% saveable sure, but i just never ever ever do things the ghetto way.
Realisticly, no matter how jacked up to do a deck install, there shouldn't ever be a way you mess it up to the point of your car not starting, because the radio constant and ignition fuses are not connected to anything that would drain it that bad (and would pop a fuse if they were that bad)
I'd say, if you and me can't figure this out via the forum, pull out everything you did, and bring it to best buy if it'll start.

I appologize for the problems with my thread, and yes I did use a wire harness. I've installed many stereos in the last couple years and never had any problems. I ended up bringing in the battery to get tested at Checker and they charged it in the process, reconnected everything the same it was before and everything worked perfectly... no explaination for why i ran into so many problems. Thanks for the advice and help though, i definitely appreciate it. hopefully this thread will help out others with problems during installs.

ok, picked up a compustar cm4200 from a friend, have some basic questions, first the tach sense input.. do i wrap this wire around the otuside of a spark plug wire? also , i want to hook up the door lock function aswell, it has ground triggers one wire for lock, one wire for unlock, is there single wires i can tap into to make this function? or do i have to hook to all switches in the doors of the vehcile? also the trunk pop function, also is a ground trigger, where would i connect that too?
thanks

Dave, glad you're willing to help with questions. What we need to do is have members post their questions in this section as normal, and feel free to chime in with advice. If people start using this thread to ask you multiple questions, it will get out of hand very quickly. To prevent this I am going to lock this thread, so anybody with AV questions, please post up as usual.
