I've read through many of the posts and I hope this question hasn't been answered already and beat like a dead horse, But..
I recently hit a junkyard doing a thing with the "cash for clunker" cars.. you pull it and the parts are super cheap i.e. seat for 20$, whole door for 50$. While I was there, I grabbed a console from a 99 Blazer (15$).
Mine, of the same year, didn't come equipped with one (and planning on digging underneath the headliner this weekend to check), but is that section of harness thats needed to feed the console already there?? Or do I have to make a harness by using some of the schematics in the related threads?

I do not believe that the harness is there...
If not, follow this for info on how to wire it up...

I have 2 of these trip computer displays and I can't seem to get either one to read the data port. I tapped into the purple wire on the DLC under the dash and it refuses to see any data. I have scads of schematics for these things. My next option is to find the BCM and tap into it. Has any one got one of these to work on a 95-97 Blazer? I have ran all the wires I need. I can wire one of these in my sleep I think!
One of the displays came out of a 97 Bravada. The other is from a 98+ Blazer LT. The Astro Vans also came with them. I have diagrams for all the displays. It seems the later model Blazers are easier to mod than the earlier ones.

So once the new display with the computer is in, how to you get the wire from the Purple down to the DLC connector. Also to verify the DLC connector is where exactly.
Also if a console if found with HomeLink is that a self contained unit in the console such that when power is connected it is ready to use, or is that just a set of switches with an additional needed module somewhere outside the overhead console.

I ran my wire, from overhead display, behind headliner, to drivers side pillar whic poped off easily, just clips to hold it on, to connector under the dash. I took off under dash panel, and cut correct wire to splice into it. makesure to cut in thee middle of the exposed wire, so if you make a mistake, you can re-cut it. I used a weatherproof butt splice connector for the added security. As for Homelink, that is self contained, just add power and away you go.
