Seriously... Here in Texas I go to Bazaars for my audio. I got the memphis mojo 12s in my stratus and after I sell the stratus I plan on getting the memphis MadMax 15s.
Best thing about Bazaars is if you wave cash in thier face you can haggle pretty freakin' good. They tend to carry stuff that Best Buy or whatever won't - like memphis. I got 2 of the mojo 12s and a box for 750. I personally think they can perform well for SQ and SPL. The bass just doesn't hammer your ears if tuned right... It can sound really nice if your mids and highs are done right.
I bought 2 infinity 10s that could only handle like 1k TOPS or they'd blow... That costed me 600$. Memphis subs that people use in SPL and such sound WAY better, built better (rugged), and they're a FAR more better bang for your buck.
Go memphis!
If you have memphis - everyone will know!

I'm not trying to start anything. But in the most non offensive way... A 500 watt sub blows a 2000 watt sub out of the water? Those Alpines are 15"s though right? The QVC (crappy mojo 15 imo) hit like 158 pretty easy and I'm sure you won't be blowing the motor out on them as quick as you would running that Type are with a 2500 watt amp... I think.
I personally never had luck with Alpine head units so I wouldn't give thier subs a shot. 1 head unit wouldn't play CDs while it was cold and the other I used to remove the face every day when I'd park at school... The face begin getting graphic problems. I use JVC now for head units.

Fi, Re, Digital Designs, TC(or audiopulse whatever the hell they are now), AudioQue list goes on and on. Pricing will be around the same some cases even less. But it really isnt all about the driver. The enclosure will play a MASSIVE role in how a woofer sounds.

I wouldn't say I've been in the car audio "scene" for a long time. I've had subwoofers in my cars constantly for roughly 8 years. I'm not "into" anything. I'm also not a Moderator From RealmOfExcursion.com either :P I havn't read at all into the Type Rs. As I said I hadn't had luck with the Alpine... therefor I never gave thier subs a chance.
I'm not competing with knowledge. I don't wanna get someone all reared up on thier knowledge horse. I simply stated what I had, the deal I got and the durability of the subs. My fav. subs are the memphis mojo... When I go to meets out here - the owner of one of the bazaar shops is always there with his infiniti QX56 and he beats EVERYONE who shows with his 4 madmax subs.
As far as advertising... That's not what I was doing. They are just as easily used as SQ subs too. I stated that in there. They give a nice sound.
I'll keep my Blazer business on the chevy forums and my audio on layitlow. It seems I got smacked by a few peoples ego trips.

i rock an alpine head, mud trail and street, never skips, never misses a thing. grpahics work fine. had a type e. cheap, hit like a mother, and it is a trend carried on to the arrrghs but i must say things along the line of Fi and RE as mentioned are just much better build and sound than most of what memphis has to offer, so lets just let him have his build thread back now,
Thank you kindly,

I have done extensive testing with the focal TN-47 tweets. In SUVs and larger vehicles they do great in the kicks pointed upwards.
