Default Bought some subs

Ok, I bought a pair of thes bad boys http://www.dealtime.com/xPF-Rockford-Fosgate-RFD2212 and they were already in a bandpass box, I don't know if making my own box would sound better or not and I dont know which amp I should get for these subs, I'm running a ****ty 500w amp he gave me along with the deal. Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. I got the subs in the box and amp for $150, pretty good deal imo

Hey i had a pair of those subs back in the day when they came out. Ya $150 is a damn fine deal.
Far better driver then the newer RF stuff. But imo the only RF note worthy is the TRF subs.
I would imagine if its a prefab bandpass it would be benificial to build or even get a prefab ported box.
I would slap a Stetsom 1k4d on those babies that would put them past their limits.

I wouldn't even know where to begin with building a box, and what amp should I run with them?

The subs you have are the exact ones you linked to?
If so look for a amp in the 1000 rms @ 1ohm range. You could still just use the 500 watt amp you got with them for the time being if you are on a budget. If you arnt on a budget i suggest a Stetsom 1k4d but you are looking at $800, but thats 1400 rms @ 1ohm and tiny in size.

I'm on a budget around $200 or so max on the amp, but I looked at the box and there is a 1/2inch or less gap between the top piece and the right side, where I mounted my amp.
