Default Changing some Lighting around

Well I finally got sick and tired of the dim lights within the Blazer. Being a DIYer, I decided to pick up some LED's and start making some LED panels. The first thing I am changing around is the dome light and the rear hatch light, picking up the perf board tomorrow. I'm just sticking with the white though. I'm also planning on adding some lighting to the rear, and eventuall some lighting under my running boards. I think I have the dome light figured out, just have to get the overhead torn apart to get to some wiring. The question I'm having is, what would be the easier router for running boards? I don't think making my own would be water tight enough, or bright enough (I have 3mm 15,000MCD LEDs on the way) and I really don't feel like paying big bucks for this. Pretty much I want them to see around the vehicle a little better and a little security thing. I know how to wire them into the truck, just what would be an easy route?
