comps
I was just wondering what you all thought of the old phoenix gold octane comp sets. I was lookin to get a pair off onlinecarstereo.com for 109. anyone have any other suggestions for around that price range?
Never heard them personally but they look fairly decent. I like how thay have a 24bB crossover frequency. The only problem I can see you having is mounting depth. They are 2 3/4" deep and on my 2005 that is too deep for the front and really too deep for the back. You can however make it work with some longer screws, cups to go behind the mid, silicone, and breaking off the little plastic ring on the inside of the back doors. That is what I had to do since I did not research how shallow our mounting depth was before hand.
ya I just got the one pair. I'm going to get my wisdom teeth pulled soon so im *trying* to save money [&o]
Do you guys think I'll have any problems getting them to fit? they didnt look much deeper than my alpines.........
two more questions, what size are the tweeters in the dash? and can i just swap new ones in and use the stock bass blockers?

I rewired all my speakers completely so I didn't even know we had bass blockers. Those stock tweets look like the speaker out of a childrens toy ie. less than one inch. I think the PGs might stick out on you a little but the back doors are the real bitch so you can probably make it work. I do recommend you find some cups to go on the back of the speakers and some slightly longer screws to hold the speakers in. If you decide to run new wires....make sure the damn window still rolls up and down freely before you put it all back together. Damn I hate that!
