Default Kicker Comps

I can get a good deal on either 2x 10" or 2x 12" Kicker Comp subs.. I was orginally gonna go with Alpine Type R's, I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Kicker Comp's from what ive heard they do a good job as long as they are powered right, the only kicker thing ive had was some speakers way back when though.

they will do great in right enclosure powered by decent power. The Alpines will get louder, and take more power. but sound-wise, will be pretty close.

HiFonics 1206, HiFonics 1606. either are pretty good bang for the buck

I've bought all my equipment from caraudio forums or ebay. 9 amps, 7 12" subs, a deck, comps, wire, speakers. Never had a problem as long as you research the sellers first.

kicker comps=sucky [8D]I'd deff go with the R's. louder, more excursion, takes more power, and down right sexy looks.

I think the 1606 would be too much power for the comps, but just right for the R's assuming their the newer models. Even if they were the old style alot off ppl run them at 500 each.

www.onlinecarstereo.com has the 1606 for $230 last time I checked. I'm also from canada and I've orderd from them a couple times and it was fast.

I'd say the 1606 @ 1 ohm on 2 12" R's should put you around 145 in the right box....I would hope.

Not a fan of Kicker. Voice coils are to small for what they are rated at. Not a huge fan of Alpines either but i would go with the Alpines over the Kickers any day. Unless you are getting some L7's, I wouldn't waste my money. Don't get me wrong, Kicker is a great company but I've heard to many horror stories and people wasting their money.
