Custom 10" Box for 2001 2 Dr
#11
Yes they do just barely fit in the storage bins, but I was suprised how cool they actually ran. After about an hour I checked the temps and they were still cool to the touch, granted I don't really crank it up too loud.
I too originally wanted to go with the stealbox, but they are a little on the expensive end. Plus, I don't think it would have sounded nearly as good being a shallow mount vs. the full sized 10". Really it sounds just as good and the two 12" pioneer setup I had in my old Bronco a few years back, and that thing was pushing around 1000 watts.
As far as the box dimensions go, I couldn't tell ya off hand, but I used almost every bit of two 3/4" MDF boards that I got from Home Depot. I believe they were 2ft x 4ft. You could probably get away with a similar sized box for your 12" since the box has a fairly large volume (around 1.5 cuft)
The speaker grill is pretty sick, but I think they only fit Kicker speakers. I think I remember reading somewhere that they have a unique cutout diameter (one of the reasons I decided to build my own box in the first place) and that the placement of the screw holes would only line up correctly with the compVR. I could be wrong but that's what I remember.
