Default 95 4.3 "w"short block and 96+ 4.3"w" comparison

I want to build a replacement engine for my '95 Blazer, but can't seem to locate a good block locally. I would like to confirm something that i have research about the post 95 4.3 short blocks. Am I correct on the fact that the 96 short block is the same as the 95? The reason i ask is that i already have a spare set of heads off a 95 4.3"w" and can find plenty of 96+ 4.3 short blocks. Also am I correct in that the only difference is the heads? I know the bolt angle is different on post '95 heads for the intake and the crank on '95+ has a reluctor ring. Anyone ever look into this?
