Default Custom Install

I mid way through my project and now im stuck. My ride is a 95 4 door. I am wiring a whole new harness for the head unit because im leaving the old one in and hiding the new one. My question is where I should run the constant 12v wire and the ignition wire from? The fuse box? The battery? Im stuck as of now b/c I have replaced all 4 door speakers w/ new wires for the head unit and i cant listen to anything.

Also the speakers in the dash require a hex wrench but it seems like you can only use a s-type wrench for that b/c I have a strait one and the windshield gets in the way. Im not to worried about these guys b/c if i need to i'll install new tweeters somewhere else. Just wondering if anyone else ran into that problem and how the got around it.

Thanks for any help!

I would run it from your fuse panel thats what I did with my 92 s10 that had no constant.

for the dash, i used one of the short bits, like the ones that you can put into a changable head screw driver, then put a pair of pliers on those. Theyre not hex either, theyre torx

Constant 12V+ Red Ignition Switch Harness
Starter Yellow Ignition Switch Harness
Ignition Pink Ignition Switch Harness
Ignition 2 Pink/White Ignition Switch Harness
Ignition 3 Brown Ignition Switch Harness

I would tap into the red in the ignition bundle under steering wheel, and the same for the yallow

I used a torx bit I had that came in a cheap torx set I bought at AutoZone, it's a 1/4" hex on the back so I just slipped it into a 1/4" socket and that gave me a big enough handle to be able to turn with my finger tips. If the screws are too tight to turn by hand a pair of pliers will work, just be sure to only tighten them hand tight when you reinstall everything in case you ever have to get those speakers back out of there. Screws in plastic don't need to be torqued down excessively anyway, they don't tend to back out or vibrate loose like metal threads.
