Dear audiophiles of the forum, a little help please.
Hey guys,
So i'm beginning with the mod bug in the audio department. I've got a basic idea what i want to do here but i don't have any real experience with quality audio equipment (at least not for vehicles, I'm a stage sound tech as my second job) So i know what sounds good, just not what gear is quality.
I've started my bug with this Pioneer MVH-P7300 Digital media receiver at Crutchfield.com
My stepdad already put a set of pioneer speakers in all the doors (although i cant remember the model number) the specs are 30w rms 160max 50-22k hz responce 93db signal to noise
now, here's basically what i'm planning to do from here. I just want to add some low end because music to me sounds naked without it. Now i don't want to overpower myself with bass. the head unit has active crossovers built in so i'm staying away from passives and from signal processors. And being the dweeb i am i'm kinda hoping to stay with all pioneer (except for the amp.)
Here's what i'm looking at
Sub Pioneer TS-W259D4 Champion Series 10" subwoofer with dual 4-ohm voice coils at Crutchfield.com
Box Sound Ordnance Bass Bunker Ported single 10" subwoofer enclosure (Model BB10-125V) at Crutchfield.com (yes i know the box is .36 cubic foot larger than recommended but due to the kind of music and variety i listen to i think it will sound better as it flattens the response)
and AMP Sound Ordnance M-1350 Mono subwoofer amplifier 350 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms at Crutchfield.com
The amp is the crutchfield house brand. I haven't heard anything bad about them and quite honestly price is the main factor in me going that route.
anyone have have any opinions or suggestions about this setup?

sound ordinance is supposed to be pretty good for the price I've never dealt with that brand before, but if I were you I'd get a sealed box it will take up less space and won't give you a real trunk pounding. check walmart you can get a sealed box for $30. Also for amps best buy crutchfield and all other big names amps are super expensive go on ebay you can find a 300 watt amp for much cheaper.
I think you are a bit confused with the amp as well. I know it says 350 watts rms but that's at 2 ohm's the sub you have won't work at 2 ohm's so the amp is only putting out 210 watts at 4 ohm's.
the sub seems fine I've never dealt with pioneer either but I'm guessing any 300 watt sub would sound pretty decent. but yea all of that stuff on crutchfield you can find for cheaper on ebay

it's a 4ohm DVC sub, wired in parallel it's 2ohm load. or am i wrong?
Part of the reason I don't want a sealed box is because i'm running a 300w sub...to get the same "feel" from a sealed box i would need to run a much heftier sub and amp combo wouldn't i?

good idea checking ebay. found a couple good deals.
Seems this would be a good match for an amp? Pioneer GM-D7500M ClassD Car Amp 800 Watts MAX NEW! | eBay
and i found the same sub at a much lower price. Pioneer TS-W259D4-10" Subwoofer Dual 4 Ohm Voice Coils - eBay (item 120764577261 end time Sep-15-11 01:45:07 PDT)

I already have the unit. And even if they were a little cheaper crutchfield gives the better deal on them because they give you the wiring harness, install kit, and antenna adapter free LOL
