Default dome light problems

i have a '99 blazer and the dome light seemed to quit working when the doors are open. if you switch the dimmer switch all the way up they will still come on and when i use the keyless entry they come on. the radio and lights still turn off when i open the doors. so i am not sure if it would be the door switches or the actual headlight/dimmer switch that would have to be replaced. any help would be great.

You might have turned the dome light over ride on. It is a little button right below the headlight switch. Try pushing the button in with the door open and see what happens. HTH Korey

There's no little button near the headlight switch? That's odd...

If that's not the case, there might be a burnt fuse somewhere...

ya i thought that was odd too most GM cars have them. and the fuse is good because the dome light still comes on if the dimmer switch is pushed all the way up and the keyless turns the light on also

There might be a fuse for the door sensors, or else at least ONE of the doors would make the light come on...
