Default Double Din installs

Whose got a double din install? Does anyone make a install kit right now?

I was looking at my 96 blazer and if I would remove the stock pocket I'm positive I could fit a 7 inch double din there.

Anyone done this?

the 95-97 s-series is only 1.5 din, but hey with tools and an imagination, you can make anything work. in theory...

if you remove the stock pocket, it will probably fit the face size, but i don't know about depth wise. and then your going to have to fabricate your own dash kit from plastic or fiberglass, and hopefully make it look half decent, not like it was just plopped in there.

yea you would have to make a custom bracket to hold it. a din and a half isn't much smaller than double din so a little shaving would make it work

for an 01 you can buy a dash bezel from an 03 or later. they were all double din after 03, but those bezels are hard to com by , ive been driving around for two months without the bezel because i cant find one thats not $150 or more

yes you need the 03+ bezel, and would have to modify a dash kit for it since the 03+ doesnt mount the same as the 98-02.

im not sure what your going to have to do with the mounts, i would just wing it. just find some sheet plastic, heat gun, hot glue gun and some bolts and you should be able to make it work.
