Default Factory Steering Wheel Controls

I have a 2003 ZR2 and would like to install the factory steering wheel controls. I have the controls, cover, clock spring, and wiring harness from the controls/clock spring. What I would like to know is the Blazer factory wired from the fuse box through the steering column up to the airbag where the steering wheel control harness plugs into? I'm just wondering if it is wired from the factory, because I know that for cost cutting, GM may have deleted this harness, and I don't want to pull the airbag/steering wheel to find out I need this harness. There are 7 wires (1 yellow, 2 grey, 2 green, 2 black) coming from the controls into a connector (part # 16825351 - 2290A 3).

Thanks

They've done weirder things. Without hearing from someone with the same year of vehicle that has tried this very thing, it is quite an unknown.
