Default fiberglassing

ok in the next month or so i am planning on building a small fiberglass enclosure to replace the coin tray looking thing in the front of my center colum so i can mount a 7.2" screen in there....now my question is what is the best way to build a frame for the fiberglass?? should i just build it out of wood? if anyone has any fiberglassing experience and could tell me what to do that would be great....this is my first adventure with custom fiberglassing lol
