front speaker problem

Default front speaker problem

I just bought a 1988 s10 blazer, the stereo is all factory with am/fm and cassette. the problem is that the front speakers don't work at all. im kind of new to stereos, so i was wondering if someone could help me figure out how i can fix them. any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you

well after youve removed the grill to make sure theres even speakers in there, unplug the speaker and test the terminals with a digital multimeter (while stereo is on). if its reading anything, then your speakers are dead. if its not reading anything, take out the head unit and try to tap into those same wires with the DMM. if it reads anything there, you got a short or break in your wire. if it doesnt read anything, chances are the front channels of the head unit are fried.

for factory systems, the problems are usually @ the speaker location... get to the speaker first, check to make sure its connected, if it still doesnt play, unplug it and hook up another speaker..
