Default Fuse Size?

I am getting ready to hard wire a radar detector and i am running it to a new fuse in the fuse box. what size fuse should i order (not the ampage) like is it a mini blade fuse or normal size? thanks

I would just use the regular size fuses, not the minis. Just easier to deal with.

How are you wiring this into the box? An open position? What are you using for the contacts in the box? Why not just find a switched ignition source wire (radio power) and tap into it with a 3A or 5A fuse?

OK... You do not plug that into an empty fuse, you find a fuse that has the power when you want it (ignition switched or constant - you want ignition switched) and piggy back off of it with the item you linked to. The radio fuse would be a good candidate.

Then you question is what size to get...? Well, you have to match the fuse size for the circuit you are planning on jumping off of.

ok since that has 2 fuses one will be for the radio and the other would go to the radar detector? and i plan on using a 5 amp.
