Any ideas? I would like to keep my head unit, andd install some decent speakers, and maybe an amp. Most of my music is Very heavy. But I do do some thumpin!! Our Trail Blazer has a decent system for stock. I woul like to get mine around, or better than that (I have a 2000 blazer, 4.3, and a 05 Trail Blazer) Any help?

depends how much thump you want, and how much your willing to spend.

www.onlinecarstereo.com is a good site, I suggest you take a gander.

could replace stock speakers with components and amp them for a lil beat. components are seperate mids and tweeters, generally sound better than coaxials.

or you can add a 10 or 12" sub for true bass

or a combination of both.......like I said, depends what you want, and your price range.

if you take a look in my thread called "new gear" you can see a 12" type R which run for $138 I think, I see them retail here for around $400. I'm sure 1 would be more than enough for ya. but theres sooooo many options

+1 on a Type R if you need a component subwoofer.I got one of these brand new two weeks agofrom ebay for about 145 bucks including shipping. Put it in a prefab sealed box and there is greatsound quality from this subwoofer, evenat high volume.

Are yousaying you want to keep the stock head unit? And amping aftermarket speakers, component or full range, is always a good idea.An ideal budget is needed in order to give out goodoptions for you though.

i have some focal audio speakers in my blazer and they bump good with no subwoofer. they also can blast some pantera or lamb of god or metallica like no other. they run about 250 a set so like 600 for front and rear. i would look into those i love mine. i also got some focal tweeters that make high pitch stuff almost to high pitch. they are awsome speakers though.
