Default hooking up subs question

k i have a alpine head unit with alpine door speakers in front and back, all sound good but i want some sub bass in there also.
i got a pair of magnum 10's in a magnum box and a fosgate 200a1 mono block amp that is suposed to put out around 300 watts at 2ohm load.
my question is will the alternator stock be good enuf to be able to run my system without headlights dimming with the bass?...
well thats my only question and thanks for any answers..

You wont get much with only 200watts. Make sure you run the right size power wire as this will help. Also, in all of my systems I have had I always run a heavier wire from the battery to the alt and I also run a bigger ground from the battery to the chassis. All of these will help a lot.

Wont be much dimming, IF any. 200 Watts is really nothing. I'm running 2500 Watts and used to without a cap and had a little dimming. Its all in wiring. Make sure you have the right wiring and do the "Big 3" if necessary.

If your not looking for huge bass than you probably wont have any dimming at all.

With the correctly built box 200 watts (RMS) @2ohms can make a single 2ohm or (dual 4 ohm ran in parallel) sub hit pretty damn good. It wont beat you out of your seat but will def. do the job for what you need. Quality obviously has alot to do with it as well. A cheap *** interfire 1000 watt amp(400 to 500 rms) is gonna have around the same output as a jl 500 watt ( roughly 200 to 250 rms)etc. Some people swear by cheap crap and others swear by expensive. I personally like the middle ground, but to each his own.

did the install today i have 2 mtx magnum 10's in a slot ported magnum box, each sub is 200watt rms.
i have a punch 200a1 amp pushing them, i was told its a 200watt amp but reviews i read says it will put out over 400 at 2ohm.
well i hooked her all up and for just a pair of cheap 10's they make my mirrors shake like nuts and my nose itch .

2 brand new mtx magnum 10's in embroidered box, $29+tax at pawn shop.
1 rockford fosgate punch 200a1 mono amp, $30 off of craigslist.
walmart (o joy) amp install kit, $20.
sound = great, way better than i thought it would sound and lovin it.
thank you all...
