Default how many channels

I know there are 6 speakers in the setup, is the stock head unit 6 channels or do the dash share channels with the front door speakers. Im looking on doing a fairly cheap upgrade change out the stock speakers and the head unit, but I dont plan on adding an amp or subs.

The dash is tied up with the door speakers. I have all 6 running off a 4 channel JL 300/4 amp.

I'd just change the head unit and leave the speakers alone (unless they're shot). You'll notice a big difference with a good aftermarket unit. Mine sounds cleaner now.

OK so it is 4 channel I figured they would cheap out,I planned on changing the speakers because the one in the drivers door went bad and I stuck in some super cheapy I had laying around. For the dash speakers I know they can be little ones stuck in a bigger plate or a regular size speaker,if I change them out to the normal size one is there something I add to prevent bass from coming out of them, or is there a paticular speaker that im looking for.
