I hear my CD player through my amp.. and no I'm not being an idiot. lol When i have a cd in with the volume turned to zero i hear "bumb bumb bumb" coming from my sub all the time. Then, when i take the cd out and turn on the radio (with the volume turned to zero) there's no noise.. And when i have just the radio on (with no volume and no "bumb bumb bumb" noise) and i turn on the dome light it goes "bumb" not sure what else makes it go "bumb" yet. But if someone can tell me what's wrong that'll be great...

 

Im taking a shot in the dark, do you happen to have a pioneer or jvc radio? I would go over your grounds again.

 

ya i have a pioneer head unit. The ground for the amp is fine...But idk if this problem is from a ground cause you can hear the cd spinning in the bay. and you can hear the dome light turn on. lol

 

It is a ground issue with the radio. They have a fault on the board of the radio. You can try taking a small piece of wire and grounding your rca's to the radio. Temp fix, but the radio is the issue.

 

I tried grounding out the rcas but it didnt work.. I also hear engine noise... So after that i put it in my other truck.. turned the radio on and the radio quickly turned off then back on over and over with kind of the same noise.. I had another sub and amp that i thought was blown because of this..(did the same thing as this system) Could one(or both) of the rca wires be pinched somewhere and grounding out? would that even cause this? cause its very unlikely that both of my trucks have messed up radios...

 

I've been asking around and most of the people i've talked to say i need better rca wires, some say its a bad amp.. idk.....lol

 

are you swapping the radio into both trucks? I still believe that the radio is the issue. Have you measured the resistance of the grounds that you are using?
