Default Installing Aftermarket CD Deck

K so I just got a 2000 Blazer 4dr. 4x4 LT.
I was trying to install my aftermarket deck from my old car into my new blazer.
Got the whole dash apart and disconnected the stereo but got stuck on one part that I have NO IDEA what to do with it.
It's like a metal rod in the back of the stock stereo and I don't know what to do with it...or what it is. (antenna?)
I'd like to install the deck myself and save a bunch of money because the local best buy says it"ll run me about $100 for the install.

Can somebody please help me with this and tell me what to do with it as it would be EXTREMELY helpful.

THANK YOU - Andrew

I bet they told you $100 b/c that should include parts and labor. You will need a wiring kit, dash kit and antenna adapter. Install from them runs $49.99.

second this. the deck will slip around and fall out without the dash kit. The antenna wire will NOT stay plugged in without the adapter and the factory plug wont work with aftermarket. Dont forget the eletrical tape either. You will be cutting and splicing the wires, dont need those exposed behind the dash causing shorts an fires lol

I would think you would know what the antenna wire looks like.

If memory serves me, back when I had my 91, there was a metal support on the back that slipped into some of the plastic ductwork. That could be what you are refurring to. As posted above, a pic would go a long way in identifying what you are talking about.
