Insturment cluster
I have a 2000 chevy blazer with a stock insturment cluster that has no tach built in, if I were to buy a factory insturment cluster that has a tach and install it would the tach work?

I did this same thing. easyest mod ever, lol. Save your self some dough and get it from a yard. I think I may have paid 5-10 bucks, only down side is now my truck apears to have 20K more miles, lol!

I am pretty sure that on the 98+, the mileage is stored in the PCM and communicated to the cluster. You should not have this problem.
