i have owned 3 excelon decks and am currently using one now and they are awesome. But just like any brand some people have different tastes. i have found that kenwood decks (in general) have a little bit more of a learning cerve. They tend to be a little more complicated to work, but with time its fine. Their excelon decks sound great though 24bit dac hight voltage pre outs and tones of eq and custome audio settings. as far as sound quality goes, they are right up there. i have not used that spacific one, but i have the 991 and i have a 160GB hard drive hooked up through the hard drive and it works great.

I only know one person with a Kenwood H/U, and it's worked for over two years now with no problem. His only complaint is that the buttons and **** are wearing out from age so you don't know what they say anymore. lol. I think his main problem is that it's a detachable face and for a while he carried the faceplate in his pocket.

Thanks for all the info. I'm now trying to decide between this H/U and the Pioneer DEH-P6000. Here is a link to it: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130P600...00&tp=5684. I've been trying to compare these two units but I don't know a lot about car audio, so I'm having some trouble deciding. I've got a '97 Blazer 4-door with the stock CD Player and Polk Audio speakers in the doors (db650 in front and not sure what number in the rear doors). No amp or subs right now. I wasn't really sure which of these two H/U's had the better adjustment features and would sound the best, or which one was better in general. Could someone take a look at these and let me know what you think. Like I said, I don't know a wholelot about all of thetechnical stuff or the sound adjustment stuff, so I really appreciate the help. Thanks.

Hmm... I had a Pioneer hu in my first car. I personally didnt like the sound of the pioneer unit. Im more of a "bassy" sound. I have not heard any kenwood either. the best advice i can say is go to all the electronic stores with car sterios... custom shops etc. find the sound your going for.. most places let you pick the hu and the speakers and test the sound.
with the first hu that you posted crutchfield had one that was 100$ cheaper that does the same only the display was not in color
