Default Large voltage drops

I am getting large voltage drops when the bass hits (headunit actually turns off and back on) I am running 2 alpine type Rs at 1000 watts RMS.

I was wondering if I should get a HO alt or new battery. I have no idea how to go about an alt so some product links would be helpful if I need one, also was thinking about the kinetik 1400 battery.

How much is a large voltage drop? I dropped from 13.8V to 12.9V on a stock alt running a Sundown 3000D @ 1 ohm. If you're getting drops low enough to shut your head unit off I'd check your wiring and make sure you don't have a short.

First do the Big 3, it'll make a night and day difference in your electrical, then get a better battery, then get an HO alt. Think of your batts as the reserve your amps pull off of and the alt that refills them.

Kinetik is all right, for the price I'd prefer deka intimidators. Didn't notice much of a difference in SPL switching from Deka to Kinetik but got a .3 bump going from Kinetik to Odyssey. So I can say from experience that i'm not too impressed with Kinetik.

It drops all the the way down to 9 and then the headunit shuts off. I am running 2 500 watt amps, 1 to each sub if it matters. Stupid most likely but it was cheaper.

I'll check the wiring I know there is some rust by my ground if it matters.

Yeah dropping all the way down to 9 is very harsh. Something is wrong with that setup. You might have a dud battery. While competing i've damaged cells in a battery and it is the weirdest thing. At idle, rest it looks and read normal but when there is a load on the battery it dropped bad.

Always build up your electrical first. which consist's of

Battery or battery banks
1/0awg more then one run if needed.
BIG 3
Highoutput alternator or two if needed.
Voltage step up module if needed

Always make sure all crimp connection's are solid and are not weak.

2 500 watt amps shouldnt be dropping your voltage that much. as already mentioned, there is definitely something else wrong. go have your battery tested for free at autozone.

When my stock alternator was going bad on my 4.3 blazer i had big voltage drops aswell. I than upgraded to a AD244 and don't get big voltage drops. I'm only running 1,200 rms with a red top optima under hood with 4 gauge ofc wire.
