Another update being made!!!!!!
new amps to be used!
Lanzar Optudrive 2000D amps - 4 of them. running 4 12's to each for 500rms/1000 max wired at .5 ohm
New speaker setup!
redesigned a tad after State MECA finals yesterday - not using 12 12's anymore.
i had changed it to 12 15's for a minute, now its
16 12" Sidewinders!
hehe, lets see how much crazier i get before this is totally done.

i was going to, but i got some bad/good news last night - the setup is changing majorly! more power to less speakers. basically its changing to 4 of the 15 inch Napalms and a 3000rms DS-class amp to each on. the box is going to be a fiberglass wall. it will be amazing but insane non the less.
and im not loaded, that much at least - this is a multi month build and i have about 3 sponsors for the project now.

so you went from 16 all the way down to 4......and whats the diff between a class d and a ds?

there are a few things to realize when i say that however. for one thing - the difference is that i was going with 16 12" subs that would be pushed hard by 500rms, and thats what they would have been getting. not im moving to 4 15" subs that will be getting 4000 rms each. that actually means the truck will be using twice the power as before and a quarter the number of speakers.
Another point is that instead of a mostly wood box, it will now be a fiberglass box - fiberglass doesnt obsorb sound as much as wood does. plus i will have more room for batteries and such this way.
Its not the number of speakers that determine the loudness - its the quality of product and how its used.
there is a comp car now that uses 4 of the 12" Napalms (im going to use the 15" Napalms) and it has one 4000D amp (vs. the 4 i will be using) and it does a drive by on a MECA mic at 133 in an enclosed wood box. im confident when im done to be in the low to mid 160's. at minimum - high 150's.
amp classes - if i recall digital circuit and d-class are the same, but it means that the amp is more efficient but only available for low frequency uses. check with Pat or Jon to make sure though.
