Default Metra Kit for double din's

Hey guys, I'm a new member to the forums, but i've been reading for months. Real cool stuff here

Anyhow, I've got a 2002 2-Door Blazer, no Bose system with RDS. I'm looking to install an Eclipse AVN5435 to replace my stock, but Crutchfield.com and CircuitCity.com both say that it won't fit. I have a 4-inch double din opening, so by my count it should fit, right?

Anyhow, does anyone know which Metra kit could do the job? Thanks, you guys rock! [sm=hail.gif]

you will not find a kit that will make a double din reciever fit in your truck. you could possibly get the 99-2001 kit and cut out the seperator for the eq. that would probably work. ill try that at work tomorrow and let you know.

as far as i know you shouldnt need an install kit. you should use the hardware and brackets from your factory radio. i may be way out in left field here but some double din installs didnt need kits. just the harness and ant. adapter. but please dont take my word on this!!!

Kakn, you are correct, but in out case, for blazers, you do need the kit. I forgot about the 99-2003. that will work, all you have to do it remove the lil spacer there.

Okay... so I used the 99-2003. The unit itself fits almost perfectly. The rounded corners of the dash trim bezel doesn't fit around the fatty head unit, and likewise, the 99-2003's bezel doesn't fit either.

BUT, the head unit is in, working, and looks sweet! Will post pics when the light comes out
