Default Mounting Audio and Visual Units

Quick question,

I have a
1din 7" LCD
1din CD/DVD Stereo/Amp.
(Two Separate Units)

I want to mount the screen where my existing stereo is in the dash. I was thinking about mounting the actual unit down in my consol where my cassette is now. I know I would need to widen and heighten the hole where my cassette is but would this work? Has anyone tried this or did they mount it elsewhere? If I have to I will get an all in one but I would like to use what I have. Thanks
Michael

Yea, it would work fine. I would just get the standard mounting kit for a radio for your truck, and cut off the brackets and mount them on the screen. For the radio in casette area, wont be a problem, except for the fact that you will have to cut it to fit the radio, and extend the wires down to the new radio, and get signal back up to the screen. Wiring is pretty easy. PM if you want some direction on how to tackle this. You could also glass the screen in flush with the dash.
