Default My spiffy sound system

My Alpine 10" Type-S Powered by a Alpine MRP-M350 mono amp...

and my MTX 4 channel amp that I can't use yet because I haven't gotten my aftermarket speakers in yet...

And my collection of speakers that are going to be put in when I stop being lazy, lol.

Sitting in the drivers seat, my sub pegs my brothers cheapy radioshack decible meter at 126db! I need an accurate measurement, dammit... lol

You're right, it does only put out 350 watts RMS, lol but the sub is only rated for 300 RMS...

And it was mounted in my '85 S10 extended cab, and during the many mounting choices, until I got some bungee straps, it's orientation got lost, since I had the sub facing the back, lol.

Not a lot louder, it will be louder, but not in a major way. get a nice box for that 10 and it will hit harder than the 12.

Here is what Im running right now.

JVC Kdar 7000 CD player
CDT ES-610 Components for doors and dash
Some old school Fosgate 6x9's in the rears, (dont think they are hooked up even)

1 Treo SSX 18 in a 10.3 cu ft (before sub and port displacement) ABC Box. tuned to 32hz. (have two other boxes layin around that I swap into every few weeks, one tunes at 35 and one tuned to 29)
300 amp Ohio generator Alt

Amps -
Cadence Z100 putting 170x2 at 2 ohms for the components.
2 American Bass VFL 150.1's strapped at 1 ohm, - roughly 7500 watts at 14.4v
153.3 on the Tl at 40 hz
151.3 on TL on music.

but just roached my Treo today, two VFL 400.1s strapped, roughly 14k. sub didnt like it, lasted three minutes tho,(sub was needing a recone, had some fun with it.)

Was gng to change it to some TC-Sounds 15's but im not sure anymore, might continue to play with the 18. hits the lo - lows like nobodys business.

I do plan on using at least some of my cargo space, lol, the box seemed a lot bigger in the back seat of my old S10, so I was planning on getting a smaller one, but now that it's in there, it's actually not too bad... I think I'll have it facing up, and see how it sounds...

I'm personally extremely satisfied with it's performance!
Hell, in my old S10, sitting in the drivers seat, on that same db meter, it would only hit 120 or so, with the sub less than 3 feet away...

Much better SQ in the new Bolt Mobile! I can't wait until I get my other speakers put in, lol.

You're all welcome to come for a visit, and have a sound off, lol.

As for the Type-R... It'll sound pretty close to the same, unless I get significantly larger box...

I'll see how well my microphone works, and see if I can record ya a sample of the bass from the drivers seat or something, lol, or see if a quarter bounces on my roof (not very likely!)

dang hillbilly, sounds nice......you need to make a vid.

I want an 18!!!!! they're hard to find......

are those S's the same as the one with the shiney metal like cone? or a different design? I heard the metal ones at A&B sound, wasent overly impressed.......then again it will sound different in a car.

I had a 12" type E I didnt mind for the $, at under $100 each, cant complain......4 of those might do some damage......

Yeppers, my Type-S has the metal-ish cone... I'm liking the way it sounds in my Blazer... but I can't get the best out of it with the stocker speakers... Can't turn up the deck high enough for the sub to turn over at the max... Doesn't distort, that I can tell at max volume, even with a bass test, which is nice...
