Need 2nd Battery Help
So I am gonna run a 4000 watt system.....do I need a 2nd battery or can I just used a 250 amp high output alt? Or both? If I need a 2nd battery, what all do I need to put it in? Could I get what I need from an Autozone?

You can use the 250 amp alt, however you might want to use an isolator.
or use a relay
or use a relay

wrong, just a h.o alt will not supply enough current for anywhere near 4000 watts.
I have a 200amp h.o alt, big 3, 0 gauge, and a redtop on 1500rms and it still dips pretty bad at idle.
for that kinda power youll need at least 2, if not 3 or 4 depending on the size(s) and with that many high output batteries you'll need the h.o alt.
so plan to spend between 5-800 on electrical alone.

Is it gonna be a 4000 watt RMS constantly? Cause most people outside of competetors don't see full power at daily use. But if your really gonna run 4000 RMS then yeah ditto what they said.
My system is in the sig. Running at 1 ohm. Big 3 and amp wiring in 4 gauge (got the 0 gauge now, waiting on the crimp rings to come). Standard starter battery and a powermaster cs130 140 amp alt and with the amp at about 1000 or so watts. At highway speeds I dip into the 13.4 volt range. I'm too scared to bump like that at idle...
I'm looking at a optima starter battery, kinetik for the amp, and either 220 amp cs130 alt or a 240 amp ad244 alt. Even then I expect it not to be perfect. But if running 4000 RMS do the electrical first. I've seen a blazer with 2 18's with a Rockford T4000.1 with stock alt and the engine was dying on some bass hits . Even with 2 aux batterys on the amp and a starter battery under the hood and three runs of 0 gauge and big 3 in 0 gauge!
