Need some help??/ Speaker Box size
I have a 98 4dwr Blazer, i just removed 2 L7 15's out of a 7cu.ft. box. I am now trying to decide on subwoofers. Either the
Ascendant Audio smd 18" or a soundstream XXX 18", either way both subs are top of the line, best speakers made. I'm going to need a 9 or 10cu.ft. box, while keeping my back seats. I need to take up as much room from side to side, and seats to tailgate, then have the box tall for the rest of the air space.
I am wondering if anyone on here has done a build like this, if so, is there anyway you still have those measurements from seats to tailgate, and side to side?
Any imput is wanted, please and thank you.

-And not sure if this will help or not, but the speaker will be fired at the roof, and center ported directly at the tailgate in the middle of everything. The box will be tuned to 25hz or 30hz depending on the sub.

well first off, why are you dead set on those woofers? From what I understand the SMD is more of a SQ oriented sub. Secondly, those subs are far from the best speakers made.
Are you looking to run a pair of 18s? I cant remember the max depth but side to side you have a pretty tight 38". Do yourself a favor and do some research before you spend a **** ton of money for those subs. Check out sundown audio, dc etc. If you need pricing, I am a sundown audio sales rep and can help you out.

you wont fit a 10cuft box before port displacement in a blazer while keeping the backseat unless you wall it.

also, wouldn't he need a battery bank, upgraded alt and a ton of power for those???
lot of info missing here.
Jag, i might be getting a hold of you sooner or later

batterys can be stacked up against the side panel behind the passenger side wheel well out of the way of where the box will need to be... but yes, he would need them. If your plan is to run 18s in a s10 blazer while keeping the backseat and not walling it, you may as well stop now and pick out a different vehicle, like a full size. Yes, some have done it, but the box is going to be only a few inches from the roof. You may as well wall it at that point and gain alot more. a single 18 would be ok, 6-8 cubes can be fit relatively easy. You could even go with a set of 15's then

check out the website. There are a couple dealers in western canada

There really is no difference between buying from a dealer or directly from sundown. It just makes it a little easier to place the order if you go through a dealer/rep b/c Jacob is not always able to respond right away to emails
