Default new amp

driving to work today my amp blew up on me.... literally!!! and apparently circuit city doesnt have any record of me purchasing a protection plan. so since i have to spend money i want to know what would be a good replacement. i had a kicker kx350.2 and they dont make it anymore. i would like to stay with kicker since i have the bass control **** for a kicker. but im open to any other suggestions. i am running a 12" kicker comp (not comp vr). and i would like tostill be able to have a control ****.... girlfriend doesnt like the bass!

thanks in advance

im assuming that the 350 you have there is the same as the one i had just the newer model?

and what exactly is the difference between 1 and 2 channel amps? is it just that 2 channels can run 2 subs or is there more to it?

a mono amp is more effecient for driving subs. whether it be 1 or 8 subs. If I were in your shoes and were only planning on using that one sub, I would get a mono amp.

you'll only get 150 watts outta that if your sub is a single 4 ohm

well thats what i have. i went and bought the 300.1 today and i did notice that it was quieter than my 350.2. so i will bring it back and get a differentone. circuit city doesnt have a 350.2 they only have the 300.1, 400.1 and a 200.2 that are all about the same price. would the 200.2 be about the same as the 300.1? but i may have to take a little bit of a drive because the store i went to said that there was one about 40 mins away that had the same amp i had. i am assuming that that would be the way to go?

the 200.2 will only give you 200 watts at 4 ohms i believe. wont be a noticible difference, and you might try to compensate by cranking the gain, therefore roaching your sub.!
