Default New System...What do you think?

I am in the process of purchasing and installing my new system in my '96 4 door 4x4. Tell me what you think. The one think I am unsure about is the sub...anyone have or herd the new L7...what is your opinion.

Head Unit:
Alpine CDA-9856

Dash Speakers:
Infinity Reference 6402cfp

Door Speakers:
Infinity Reference 6002si

Amp:
Audiobahn A8001DT

Sub:
One 12" Kicker Solo-Baric L7

Cap:
Soundstream SC5CA 5.0 Farad Digital Cap

Anyone have any opinions on Audiobahn amps?

audiobahn has decent power, usually pretty close to what it states, but they're not underrated. spend a little extra cash and get an alpine, you wont regret it.

from what ive heard the audiobahn's thd is usually higher than "good" quality amps.

if you havent got the cap yet, dont waste ur money, alpines class D amps are VERY effecient.
with my 501 i get the slightest of light dimming, barely noticable. if i got a bigger battery there prolly wouldnt be any (its 680 cca's)

the alpine also has digital readouts of voltage etc, very nice feature, dont forget to port the L7

1)that amp seems pretty good but alpines r amazing they are definatly underpowered u would be very surprised at how hard my type r hits with my little mrp m350 mono d amp...its actually the loudest at my school surprising but true and everyone would agree a good amp aos for this besides blazinlouds suggestion would be a mrp m605 mono amp thats pretty powerful

2)the sub is great no changes there i have an alpine type r but u know and i know that kickers are good

3)infiniti speakers are usually some of the best on the market so u should be ok there, other wise mb quartz and alpine are good aswell

5)i love alpine decks i think there some of the best out there i have a 9851 and love it im sure ull love the 9856 no changes needed here

good luck on the system itll sound great

I'm getting the same deck. I can't wait to plug my iPod into it.

ORIGINAL: Canadian88

I'm getting the same deck. I can't wait to plug my iPod into it.

The iPod interface on the alpine works very well. my only complaint is how the screen is limited to one line of text...therefore makes searching for songs a little more of a pain..but besides that you'll love the deck.

Ok, head unit great, love alpine.

infinity speakers are ok, not great. I unfortunatly sell and install them where I work, but not bad bang for the buck.

Audiobahn anything is horrible in my opinion. I install for a living, used to compete, and I won't use anything audiobahn. But to each his own

Kicker subs pound, but I have roached a few of the L7's and am not really happy with their longevity. and for the set up that you have, you don't really need the Cap.

All told, with your shopping list, you are going to spend about 1475, with speakers, amp, cap and sub, wiring, plus more for box.

I guarantee that I can find you a better setup for less money, that will blow the other away.

Staying with your Head Unit

4x6's wouldn't even bother changing. fine for front staging.
Front Doors are either 5 1/4 or 6 1/2's.
http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=2851 $110 or
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ElRK1Qw...1800&I=065SX55 $150

6.5's
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ElRK1Qw...000&I=065S65RC $119 or
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ElRK1Qw...2000&I=065SX60 $250

Amp: Soundstream makes damn good amps for the money
http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...roduct_ID=3193 $489 putting out 1000 watts into 1 Ohm

and you an cet a brand new Treo or Resonant Engineering 12 on ebay for about 350 that will rock your world.
Like this one.

Hope this helps, didn't mean to be so long winded- just don't like people forking out hard earned money for sub par equipment. Which is why I am proposing picking up some new lines of speakers, and subs where I work, and getting rid of the garbage.
