Default no signal through RCA cables :(

I just put a line out converter in (scosche output converter) and am not getting a signal through the RCA cable or sound to the rear passenger side door speaker (yes, all the settings are set correctly and all switches are where they should be). When I pulled out the converter, all the wires were still in the output converter, but I figured those wires might be faulty. I checked continuity through all wires from the output converter to the wire harness to the stock head unit (got signal through all). I am running out of ideas and I am almost positive it's not poor RCA cables. So I am asking for possible suggestions of what could be happening, and/or should I just get new RCA cables and give them a try?
Thanks

for starters, get rid of the converter.

Should i go with a different brand or just get a new head unit (when I get some money)?
