OK, back to the begining.A sub is one of a few wiring configs. 8 Ohms, 4 ohms, dual 4 ohms, 2 ohms, dual 2 ohms, dual 1 ohms, quad 1 ohms, quad .7 ohms... I am pruprosly forgetting to add JL and their strange VC configs onto this list.

Amps put out power at 8 ohms, 4 ohms, 2 ohms, 1 ohm and lower. If you have two dual 4 ohms vc subs, and wire them up, you either get 4 ohms or 1 ohms, depending on wiring. If you have dual 2 ohms, you get either 2 ohms or 8 ohms.

I was telling you that if you get either the 4 ohm or 2 ohm kicker box, get an amp that you would be able to get different subs in the future. So, bsically, get an amp that puts out around 700 watts to 1000 watts rms at either 4 or 2 ohms, depending on what box you get. Make sure that the amp has stability at 4 2 and 1 ohms for future endeavors.

Ok, so there really is no difference between the 2 and 4 ohm box, they just make it for people with amps that support one of the two...right?

So I am going to buy the 2 ohm box, and then just buy an amp that puts out 700rms x 1 @ 2ohms...

wow, this is a confusing thread [&:]

alright! sounds like your set. but like hillbilly said, look for an amp that is also1 ohm stable. alot of amps are only 2, 4 and 8.

giving yourself another wiring option (1ohm) will allow for "future endeavors" haha! good choice of words.......
