Default overhead display question

I know there have been a couple threads on upgrading it to the trip computer with mpg data but I got one form the junkyard this weekend and hooked it up and its not working. It lights up but it does not display any data. I hooked up the first 6 pins the same didnt use the orange wire and ran a wire form the last wire (purple) to the dlc purple wire. Any help would be greatly appreciated.[/align]

Ive been trying to get answers to this same install but to of no avail..In my opinion its not as easy as it looks..I have done the same thing and nothing displays..I've been hearing lots of talk about a Class 2 serial bus connection which is linked to the BCM which allows those functions to work

Well I did some searching and I came up with this, Clicky. I still think there is a how-to somewhere on the site, but hope this helps a bit.
