Thanks for the input. I'm still recovering from buying the car. Maybe in the spring though.

if your not going to replace your stereo with an aftermarket deck, dont waste the money on speakers
I agree...pointless unless you get a new deck. Plus, you can get a decent deck to go along with it for a reasonable price. I bought mine for under $140 (with a discount, so it was actually about $180 retail). It's doesn't have to be top of the line, but with what you are planning on doing, it will still make a difference I think.
yeah, i got a hell of a deal on mine too. only $450 lol

I got everything listed below for about 800 via etronics.com i also have another sub thats not listed in that price the retail value is over 2000
Deck: Eclipse 8445 $450
Front: MB Quart pce-216 $250
Rear: MB Quart pce-216 $250
Comp amp: Orion 500.4 $120
Sub: 2 Kicker S12L7's $315
Sub amp: USAmps Merlin MD2 $480
Sub box: 2.5cubes net @ 38Hz /chamber $50ish

thats just what i paid, not retail (and i get gooood deals)

and i just recently got rid of my JL 13w7 and Jl 1000/1, which if you dont already know are worth a grand a piece retail...course i only paid $855 for both

SWEET deals yea i pretty much got the same deals except my 2400 watt amp retailed at 1200 and i got it for 300 congrates on the good findings were did you get them from ebay right??

got the head unit from a local shop. got the Merlin MD2 from flakko at caraudio.com. got the orion 500.4 from kngofthepkinglot at caraudio.com. got the components on ebay. subs on ebay. and made the box.

as for my old setup, i got the 13w7 from Ronnie_C at caraudio.com. and i got the 1000/1 on ebay
