Putting After Stock Deck
Taking off the dash and pannels should be easy. Phillips screw driver and a hex driver. should be simple. If you search on ebay for a 98 blazer wireing harness you can get em cheap or you can go to bestbuy or circuit city and get em in the day. your choice. I suggest getting it on ebay and if you are putting in subs get a cheap amp kit on ebay. those companies on ebay ship same day and it comes within 2 or 3 business days. fast shipping. you can also get the wiring setup on that sticky.
Getting the stock radio out is easy, take the 4 screws out from under the steering wheel, drop that panel down. Take out 2 more screws on either side of the steering wheel, take out 1 screw in the middle above instrument panel. Pull face of dash out. 2 screws hold the radio in place.
Very easy. As for the replacement bracket for an after market radio...I got mine at Walmart plus the correct wiring harness $20 at he most. I changed my radio in about an hour or so. Be careful to have the right mountings on the replacement plate before you cut anything off. Put the dash panel back on over the new plate to make sure it has the proper fit.
My truck is a 99' and I had the Delco with tape deck, replaced with a Pioneer DEH-14 CD player. Works great and sounds awesome.
Check it out.
1st pic is the old one.
The rest are of the new setup.

Goto Walmart and look for the radio kit and wiring harness that they have. Thats where I got both of mine from. Your after market radio and mounting plate fit into the new mounting kit. No spaces at all...fills in nice and looks great. Walmart has a chart in the auto audio section of the store so you can get the right mounting hardware.

Here are pics of the 2 items you will need at Walmart.
Both together were less that $20.00. Make sure you get the right color install kit they come in 2 different ones, wood grain and black.
